ah, the joys of being a mother!

ok people. sorry i haven't posted in awhile. i was trying to be better, and then sunday happened! everything was fine, church was great. we came home and aidan went down for his nap. at 3:00 he woke up and then promptly barfed all over his crib and daddy! it never stopped, between 3 and 6:45 he barfed 8 times. 8 TIMES people!!!! in less than 4 hours!
...
so then monday rolled around, and it seemed like it was over. he was super cuddly and whine-y but all of his food was staying down. he went to bed around 7:20 and life was good. i sent out emails telling people he was feeling better. i heard him kinda fussing around 9 and went in to check on him. i put his pacifier in and went to lay him down and then i smelled it! AHHHH more barf. so i picked him up and got robby to help me, we calmed him down and cleaned him and his crib up. daddy changed him while i started yet another load of barf soaked laundry. i lay him back down in his crib and he sits up and barfs all over the blankets we had just put over him. (luckily not on himself) so i grabbed the blankets and shoved those in the load i had just started. finally settled aidan back down and asleep. sheesh! then i hit the sack, because i was TIRED!
...
so then tuesday rolled around. today is the day. it has to be over. then he woke up from his nap and threw up all over me. joyous!! he threw up a total of 4 times today ... me only once (so far only 2 times total for this pregnancy). all of them were pretty bad and most of them were on me. (it seems he likes to cuddle right before he barfs!) needless to say aidan is tired, i'm tired and our washing machine and dryer and dang tired!! aidan is asleep, hopefully for the night. and i'm off to go find something to eat. i'm starving!!!
...
wish me luck tomorrow, hopefully whatever he had has passed. i don't think i can handle 1 more day of barf.
...
the funny thing is my sister was in town this past weekend and we were sitting in my mom's kitchen along with our friend rachel and i was telling (maybe bragging?) that aidan had never thrown up yet. oh man did i speak too soon!!! heavenly father is teaching me humility and patience and trying to test my gag reflex!!

holy smokes! Have you taken him to the doctor? Make sure you get him lots of liquids...one time Brighton drank too much baba and ate too many peaches and totally projectile all over the carpet... It was the nastiest thing I have ever seen...except maybe that time Scott ran into a door knob at my house and bled all over the floor and I had to help clean it up...

hehe ... scott thinking he was superman ... PRICELESS!!!

i called my pedatrician and she said not to bring him in and make sure he has lots of liquids. but if it continues to bring him in. if he barfs more tomorrow we will definately be visiting dr. quan!!

yes it has been pretty nasty, especially when he does it on ME!!!

Oh I hate it when my kids are sick. I especially hate it when they are barfy. I really hope that Aidan is better today. I know it is worse when you are pregnant and not feeling well yourself.

disgusting!
sick babies are the worst. well, the cuddling is not so bad. but, the chunks? total gross out, i keep the shivery heebiejeebies just thinking about it.
but today...all is well, just cuddling and no more of the nastiness, right aidan?
lots of fluids, and then more fluids, and then a popsicle or two (for you!), and then more fluids...and NAP!

Oh the barfy joy of motherhood.

You poor girl. And poor Aidan. I hope he's feeling better really soon.

Noah was age 4 before he threw up. Ava, not so much....like 9 months old.

We would put the barfy offender in bed with us, a towel under them, and a little puke-y bowl next to us. As soon as they start barfing, we sit the kid up and help him/her barf in the bowl. Usually helps with the barfy laundry problem.

I really hope things get back to normal at your house......I really feel your pain. Hang in there!

so yucky, but kinda funny. Yeah kids cause too much laundry. My babies are spitters, then you deal with over-loaded diapers that spill over then when you think it's over there's potty training. but man aidan, i think you've met your mommy's limit. Hope you both get some sleep and some febreeze!

Yucky, but funny kinda (when it's over). Emma threw up during Thanksgiving dinner once at the Steeds. Way to spoil a good holiday! I think she felt fine afterwards, but it made it hard to go back for seconds.

honestly, I can't handle barf. I'm not looking forward to when Hannah does something like this. I will probably barf, pass out and then leave it for hubby to clean up.

My dog barfed once, it was followed by ME barfing multiple times. YUCK!!!!!!!

You are a brave woman!

Yuck, puke is no fun at all.

Sorry you have been going through this. Poor Aidan!

dog barf is putrid. its the worst when they lick it up afterwards too! (sorry, this post needed some male-type comments.)
